NAMFS committees are defined in the by-laws and are validated periodically by the Board of Directors. Each committee is responsible for developing its own mission statement along with goals and objectives, including an annual review of these.
Each committee establishes a regular schedule of meetings (typically conference calls) to discuss and conduct their business. They provide agendas and meeting minutes regarding the topics discussed and actions taken by the Committee to the Board of Directors.
Each committee has designated Chair and can also designate a Vice Chair. Committees include as many volunteer members as needed to fulfill the mission and goals of the committee. Committee participation is open-ended, meaning an individual may serve on a committee for as long as they wish and may serve on more than one committee simultaneously.
