In this session, industry expert, Ruth Kraft, will discuss the continued challenges of worker classification (1099 vs W-2). There have been many changes at the Federal and State levels and she will share best practices in navigating this ever-changing arena.
1:50 – 2:30 Industry Whys? - Best Practices for the Industry: In this session, a panel will discuss several topics raised at the conference and provide greater detail on the benefits of QC in dealing with new vendors and reducing chargebacks; the complexities of this business; and why inspections are completed, why properties are placed ICC, why did inspections stop during the pandemic.
2:30 – 3:30 Servicer Panel (Sponsored by Verisk): NAMFS' popular session with servicers returns with in-person panelists speaking about volumes, current issues, and challenges in the future. Moderator, Denia Ray, has an All-Star panel that includes all levels of servicing.
3:30 – 4:30 Midyear Housing Market Update: What to Expect for the Rest of 2023 (Sponsored by Aspen Grove Solutions): As the housing market struggles to recover from the damage caused by mortgage rate hikes in 2022, what can we expect in terms of home sales, prices, and foreclosures?
Will housing prices crash, removing trillions of dollars of homeowner equity and causing a repeat of the foreclosure tsunami that happened in 2008? Or has the market already bottomed out, and begun what's likely to be a long, drawn-out recovery?
Join us as Rick Sharga answers these questions and provides an overview of how the U.S. economy is impacting the housing market; how existing and new home sales and prices are trending; and what's happening - and what to expect next - in the foreclosure market.
- Additional time is allotted for socializing, networking, and visiting the Opportunity Expo
We will close the event with the raffle of a special vacation giveaway package certificate valued at about $4,000. You must be present to win!
