NAMFS rolled out its Industry Training & Certification Program in 2010. This Program includes module specific training manuals, in a pdf format, on which the tests are based. The intent of the Test Modules is to meet the Association's desire to provide members with a tool by which they can train and certify their staffs and subcontractor network on all facets of mortgage field services.
It is also the Association's goal to have the "NAMFS Certified" designation be the gold standard in the field service industry. There are currently three test modules – Securing, Winterization and Inspections. A module may have multiple chapters to address specific issues. You have the opportunity to purchase these modules individually or collectively. Each module costs the test taker $19.99 and the module will be taken a chapter at a time. The benefit of the individual modules purchase it allows the testing for only those services that you offer.
If you are a NAMFS member, you have the opportunity to request a Member-Specific username and password that can be shared with employee(s) or subcontractor(s) that you "sponsor" to participate. The responsibility for payment of the test resides at the time of registration, which means that employee(s)/subcontractor(s) will pay for the tests themselves. This distinct user name and password must be used for each "sponsored" test taker. This will allow NAMFS the ability to identify the number of certified individuals that a member has in their network by Module. This certified network designation will be posted on the member's profile on the website for all perspective clients to see.
Our expectation is that this program will set a new standard for trained, qualified field service technicians so that when hiring companies have a choice, they choose the NAMFS-certified vendor. Each successfully passed test will result in a Certificate of Completion that the test taker can print off and keep as part of their resume. One retest, if necessary, will be allowed for the original purchase price.
For full information on how to register and take your tests, please download the Testing Instructions PDF (935 KB). Below is a summary of that infomation.
